The Court – part of the pioneering new Buckshaw Retirement Village for the over 55s in Chorley, Lancashire – will open its doors for the first time shortly, for a launch on September 26, 27 and 28.
People visiting over the three days will get their first chance to see The Court’s comprehensive range of on-site facilities, including a gymnasium, hair and beauty salon, bowling green, bistro, library, IT suite and shop.
Visitors will also be offered free wellness checks, guided tours, afternoon tea and a prize draw for a food hamper worth £200.
Maria Baker, Buckshaw Retirement Village’s recently appointed “House Doctor”, will be on hand to give advice, and financial advisers will also be available to answer any queries from prospective purchasers.
Oakbridge Retirement Villages Limited, who are building the £45 million Buckshaw Retirement Village, say that a substantial number of reservations have already been taken for the one and two bedroom apartments available in The Court, one of three distinct communities within the retirement village.
Sales and Marketing Director Irene Heffernan said: “We have had strong interest from all parts of the region and beyond. People recognise that they are not just buying property but are also buying into a very attractive lifestyle which will offer them a fabulous alternative to existing accommodation options.”
Residents at The Court will have an emergency call system so they can be confident of a response, day or night. There is also CCTV within the grounds, and a Manager will be on hand to deal with the day to day running of the village.
Irene said that many of the people looking to purchase a home at The Court were doing so because they want to downsize: “We are getting numerous enquiries from people who have three or four bedroom houses with large gardens but want to downsize because their children have now grown up and ‘flown the nest’ and their homes are becoming expensive to run. At The Court they can have easily manageable accommodation in a superb environment.”
